The Ridgeway - Barbury Castle to Liddington Castle (Wiltshire, 10.7 miles)
I began my walk in the afternoon heading east from the high viewpoint of Barbury Castle.
With stunning views on both sides of the ridge and numerous sightings of red kites, I descended to the pretty village of Ogbourne St. George.
Afer crossing the busy Marlborough road (A346), I ascended a steep incline. I ambled through a wooded area for a time, before the view opened up and I could see back to Barbury Castle.
Once I had completed a steady climb up chalky fields, I detoured off to Liddington Castle where I enjoyed a hare dancing gracefully across the fields. Heading down again the road, I crossed the bridge over the M4 before arriving at the little village of Foxhill.
