Wildlife in Winter

Winter. Cold frosty mornings. Fields laden with snow. Its a hard time of year for all of us. We can all struggle when the weather takes a turn for the worse, and our wildlife is often vulnerable to the extremes of the elements Forraging for food is much harder, and the cold means they use more energy trying to find it. Shorter days mean there is less time for them to find their food. Food provided by humans gives a welcome relief to the harshness of winter. But at least, Spring is round the corner...
